Estate Planning Basics with Attorney David Craig, esq. & Phil Auger, UNH Cooperative Extension
Dignard Room, Community Church of New Boston

Bad things sometimes happen to good people. Recognition of this unfortunate reality is the first step towards being prepared and minimizing the damage. As difficult as it is when there is a loss, proper planning can lessen the impact. Proper planning will provide protection and certainty for your loved ones, and for family land. It is never too early to plan, but it can sometimes be too late.

PLC is partnering with UNH Cooperative Extension and Attorney David Craig to sponsor an Estate Planning and Land Conservation Workshop to help landowners and others who are interested in estate planning and tools for permanently protecting open space. The topics to be covered will include:

• basic estate planning guidelines
• permanent land conservation alternatives such as conservation easements
• how land conservation can help with estate planning
• new income tax incentives
• what kinds of financial assistance are available

Phil Auger is an educator with UNH Cooperative Extension and has worked in the land conservation and forest management fields for more than twenty years.

David R. Craig maintains a solo Trusts & Estates law practice in New Boston, NH. Attorney Craig is a member of the Elder Law, Estate Planning & Probate section of NH Bar Association and the NH Estate Planning Council; is the immediate past president of the NH Chapter of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys and serves as the Chairman of the New Boston Zoning Board of Adjustment and is a former Director and Vice President of the Animal Rescue League of NH.
