Giving Tuesday: Ways You Can Help PLC

with No Comments

#GivingTuesday was created in 2012 as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to give back and do good. Over the past ten years, this idea has grown into a global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity.

This #GivingTuesday we invite you to add your voice in support of protecting the woods, water, and wildlife of southern New Hampshire.

There are many ways you can support this goal. Financial contributions are always welcome (and vital to our success!) but giving time, lending skills, sharing stories, or helping us spread the word can make a huge difference for a small organization like PLC.

When we work together, PLC can put more resources directly towards land protection projects and stewardship.  Every dollar and ounce of effort to support PLC makes a big difference and will help us protect and care for special places.

Here’s how you can support PLC:

#1: Make a Donation.

PLC’s modest budget is funded almost entirely by the private contributions of individuals, families, and businesses in the communities we serve.  Your gift today, as always, will be wisely spent and thoughtfully recognized.

#2: Grab Some PLC Gear.

We’ve partnered with Mint Printworks of Nashua to offer limited edition PLC gear. Cozy up with a PLC flannel or a Made in the USA hoodie or knit hat this winter! We’ve also got t-shirts, a 100% recycled trucker hat, and an adventure blanket with a coated bottom – perfect for picnics or sunny days on a summit. Net proceeds will benefit Piscataquog Land Conservancy’s Annual Conservation Fund.

Please be aware: this is a preorder campaign, so items won’t ship until 14 business days after the store closes on December 8th, which will be after the holidays.

#3: Give Your Time as a PLC Volunteer.

A gift of your time to PLC can look like:

  • Monitoring a PLC conservation easement
  • Helping us reach new audiences with educational and recreational outings
  • Trail monitoring and workdays
  • Supporting our fundraising efforts with planning and event support
  • Serving on a committee
  • Offering professional skills and services

If you’re interested, we invite you to reach out and share a bit about how you would like to give your time to land conservation so we can match your skills, availability, and goals with the right opportunity at PLC.

#4: Share Your Story.

The motivation behind supporting land conservation can be extremely personal and represent a broad spectrum of experience. Sharing a unique, meaningful story can inspire others to take action. Take a moment to share a photo of a special place, write a few sentences about what inspires you to support PLC, or tell a story about an impact our organization has had on you or your community. You can send us your words and images or share on your preferred social media account and tag PLC ( Facebook, Instagram).
