The Rice Preserve is a 15.375 acre parcel owned and protected by PLC.  It features steep glacial eskers, seep wetlands, and beautiful cascading waterfalls. The 3/4 mile trail crosses Scataquog Brook flowing north into Cold Brook. The trail loop runs upstream along Cold Brook to beautiful Senter Falls, then up into the steeper slopes.

Key Features:
Forest, floodplain, steep drumlins. Frontage on Scataquog & Cold Brooks, and Senter Falls.

Directions:
From Francestown (2nd NH) Turnpike take Lyndeborough Road west about 0.4 mi. to trailhead on the right.

  • This trail is NOT suitable for mt biking, xc skiing, or horseback riding
  • Dogs must be kept on a leash
  • Stay on the designated trail

  • No camping or fires
  • No swimming
