PLC Hosts Artwork of Elizabeth Leone Holmes

with No Comments

Early in 2020, the offices at Piscataquog Land Conservancy underwent some updates – new carpets, fresh paint, and new furniture. Soon after renovations were completed, the pandemic sent our staff home to work remotely. Our updated spaces were mostly uninhabited for 16 months.

Now that we are back in our Mill Street home, we’re working to complete the vision for a bright, clean space that reflects our mission and inspires our work.

Elizabeth Leone Holmes, whom many of us know as Betsy, kindly offered to lend us a collection of her paintings after a showing at the Whipple Free Library in New Boston came to an end. Several of these nature-inspired works depict properties protected by PLC conservation easements, and Holmes’ color schemes are complimentary to the colors of our walls and view of the Piscataquog River.

To say the presence of these paintings has elevated our space is an understatement. We feel incredibly fortunate to host these works, and we look forward to displaying other artists’ work in the future. We’re hopeful that as the pandemic recedes, we will be able to open our doors to host small showings, celebrating PLC’s community of artists inspired by nature. If you’re interested in showing your work at PLC in the future, please contact Jill Ketchen at jill@plcnh.org.
